  3. Designed to handle the pressure

Our range of underwater fibre cables are designed specifically for river, lake and harbor crossing deployment. Dual layers of armour wires give maximum protection against mechanical damage and subaquatic pressure. Add to this great resistance to hydrogen ingress and say hello to a cable that maintains its behaviour as if it were in a terrestrial environment.
  4. Duplex/Zipcord

This tight buffered fibre optical zip-cord is suitable for interconnections in high cabling density patch panels and other fibre management enclosures and process control applications. Featuring a very small diameter reduces significantly the cabling area density. Ferrule assembly for (LC compliant) connectors is a new compact pre-connectorized system, which can be used within ducts of very small size or can be blown into micro ducts, offering an easy and reliable solution to perform FTTx installations. After installation, the ferrule assembly can easily and rapidly be connectorized, avoiding time-consuming and expensive field termination tools and equipment. 5. ECOSPEED™

ECOSPEED™ cold shrink joint for Um up to 36 kV polymeric cables. For armoured cable, please contact us for further information.
  6. Extruded cable systems

Extruded cables are light and easy to handle and extruded cable systems are designed to be maintenance-free. Dependent on the system requirements, these features present significant benefits in terms of total installed system cost. Prysmian produces extruded cables with either XLPE or EPR insulation material, using design and process technologies, which ensure continued service reliability and long-term performance. Such cables can operate at elevated temperatures and under considerable electrical stress. Prysmian also offers a wide range of accessories for extruded cable systems, which ensures a consistent technological approach to the complete cable system. The range includes: • Outdoor terminations with porcelain or composite insulators. • SF6 and oil immersed cable terminations (both dry and wet designs). • Pre-moulded joints suitable for all installation environments and...
  7. Extruded insulation cables

The extruded dielectric offers many advantages that make the cables lighter and easier to handle and to install. Both EPR and XLPE can be used for insulation: they provide the cables with the advantage of operating at high temperatures (90°C) and at high electrical stresses. In most cases, XLPE requires an impervious metallic sheath (e.g. lead sheath) to be applied over each core to avoid direct contact with water. EPR compounds can be formulated in such a way as to give an excellent performance in terms of both electrical reliability and ageing, thus removing the need for an impervious metallic sheath (the so called "Wet Design"). We tailor-make your solutions In order to meet different standards and preconditions we always tailor-make the cable...

  12. Fire/Flame Retardant

All our Fire Resistant cables are also available in a NON-FIRE RESISTANT construction with NO FIRE RESISTANCE properties (no Mica glass tape for fire barrier). These are still LS0H, flame/fire retardant and meet all requirements of IEC 60332-1 and IEC 60332-3.
